Making Choices In The Space
I like to read. A lot. But there isn't enough time to read it all. There's not enough time to do it all. You have to choose. That's what life is all about: making choices. Cultivating the things which fulfill us, and minimizing the things that detract from us, that drag us down. If you want to lead the life you want, then you have to choose - sometimes making choices that seem absolutely insane to other people with different belief systems or priorities.
One website I look to for guidance is David Cain's excellent Raptitude. Without any more explanation, just go and spend some time there. Do it! You'll be glad you did.
So as I move through my life, I choose. Some big choices I've made - life changing choices - have turned out to have been the correct thing. How do I know? Because the consequences that followed have been life affirming also.
One of David's posts that hit me over the head is this one. Some people see the world; the stuff and events that occupy life. But, concentrating on the space that the stuff and events occupy immediately reveals gaps. More to the point, a pessimist would call them gaps. I prefer to call that empty space opportunities. And I am doing something about it. More later….
